Who we are
This notice is from Renovation Consulting Group LLC (“RCG”). We are HUD consultants. We inspect, prepare the Work Write-Up, and manage draws on renovation loans. The notice covers two services we operate:
- The public website at renovationgrp.com.
- The private cloud at cloud.renovationgrp.com. The sign-in page calls it RCG Private Cloud. The software is Nextcloud. The same notice applies if you have an account and if you are a visitor using a link someone sent you.

The public website
You can read renovationgrp.com without creating an account. The pages do not include a comment box, a sign-up form, or an advertising tracker.
When your browser requests a page, the server writes a connection log. The log includes your IP address, the date and time, the address you requested, the referring page if your browser sent one, and your browser type. We use those logs to keep the site running and to look into abuse. We do not use them to build an advertising profile.
Every page asks your browser to load typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). Google receives your IP address and browser details for that request. Google’s policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
WordPress publishes the site. If your browser cannot draw an emoji that appears on a page, WordPress may download the image from WordPress.org (s.w.org). That request includes your IP address. A visit that never needs the image does not contact WordPress.org.
If you email, call, or text the addresses and numbers published on the site, we keep the message and the email address or phone number you used so we can reply. If a loan file is opened, we keep that correspondence with the file.
The LinkedIn and Facebook names in the footer are ordinary links. Those sites learn about you only after you follow the link.
Staff who sign in to maintain the site receive a login cookie. Opening the login page also sets a short-lived cookie named wordpress_test_cookie that checks whether the browser accepts cookies. A normal visit to the public pages does not set either cookie.
The private cloud
We use cloud.renovationgrp.com to store and share renovation files with the people on a file: borrowers, realtors, lenders, contractors, and RCG staff.
Visitors
A visitor is a person who opens a link to the cloud and does not sign in. The link shows the folder or file someone chose to share. Depending on the link, you may view, download, or upload.
For a visitor, the cloud records:
- That the link was opened, and the date and time.
- Your IP address and browser type.
- Which files you viewed, downloaded, or uploaded.
- Files, names, or notes you submit on that page.
A password on a link only unlocks that link. You do not receive an account. The password belongs to the link.
Accounts
If RCG gives you an account, we store the username, your name, your email address, and a protected form of the password. We store the files in the account, the share settings, and activity such as uploads, edits, and downloads. Further profile details are stored only if you enter them.
A file you delete can remain in the cloud’s trash, and an older copy can remain as a version, until those copies are removed.
Cookies on the cloud
The cloud sets cookies from cloud.renovationgrp.com so the service can work. It does not set advertising cookies.
- A session cookie keeps the connection while you use a page or a share link. It holds a random session id.
- Two same-site cookies help the server reject forged requests. They are the same for every visitor, they do not identify you, and they remain in the browser for a long time.
- If you have an account and check “Remember me,” the browser keeps a cookie with your username for about 15 days, or until you log out. A visitor who only opens a share link does not get that cookie.
What a file may contain
A renovation file can include names, phone numbers, email addresses, a property address, photos, inspection and bid documents, and financial or identity information that the parties send us. We use it to inspect the property, write the Work Write-Up, recommend draws, and keep the file complete. We do not use it for advertising.
How we use personal information
- To publish the website and to run the cloud.
- To do the consulting work a borrower, realtor, lender, or contractor asked for.
- To answer a call, text, or email.
- To limit the cloud to the right accounts and the right links.
- To investigate abuse, and to meet record-keeping duties that apply to a renovation loan.
- To respond to a lawful request.
Who else receives it
We share file information with the people who need it for that loan: the borrower, the realtor, the lender, the contractor, and the RCG staff working the file. A share link shows its contents to whoever has the link, including a person you or someone else on the file forwards it to.
We also pass information along in these cases:
- The email or phone service that delivers a message you send us, or a message we send you.
- Google, when your browser loads fonts, and WordPress.org in the emoji case described above.
- A public authority, when the law requires it.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Connection logs on the website and the cloud are kept for operations and security, then dropped in the ordinary rotation of those logs.
Account data, files, and visitor activity on a share link stay with the file they belong to while that work is open. Afterward we keep what we still need for the file, for a dispute, or for a legal duty. We delete or de-identify the rest. You may ask us to delete information we are not required to keep.
Your requests
Email admin@renovationgrp.com to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. We will answer. We may keep what a loan file, a security log, or the law still requires.
If you have a cloud account, you can review the name and email on your profile after you sign in. Logging out ends a remember-me cookie. Asking us to close a share link stops new visits. A log already written stays until its normal retention ends, unless we agree to delete it sooner.
If a privacy law that applies to you gives you a right this page does not list, write to us and we will honor the right that applies.
Children
The website and the cloud are for adults working on a property loan. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email admin@renovationgrp.com and we will delete it.
Changes
When this notice changes, we update this page and the effective date at the top. The page you are reading is the current notice for both renovationgrp.com and cloud.renovationgrp.com.
